[00:00:00] I just invite you to take a deep breath in and a deep breath out,
and a deep breath in, and a deep breath out,
and I invite you to arrive at this present moment. In this space, in this room, in this time, wherever you are, let the worries fall away because you are right where you are supposed to be right now. And feel the
[00:01:00] floor beneath you. Under your feet, feel your
body against the chair and pray with me this prayer as though it were your words coming out of my mouth.
Father, I come before you. I know that you are with me. God, I thank you that you have given me the wife that you have given me that she is your daughter. Even with the pain that I have suffered all this long time. That she has hurt me over and over again.
[00:02:00] Lord, I need you. Lord, I need your strength. I need to know that I can forgive her even though she has pained me even sometimes without knowing it, it’s her own insecurity. But she has pained me over and over again.
God, I ask for the grace to forgive her. I ask you for the grace to let it go.
Maybe there’s a specific experience that keeps coming back to my heart, keeps coming back to my mind over and over again. How could I forgive her for such a thing?
[00:03:00] How could I forgive her for these things? Or maybe it’s just apathetic, uh, non attentiveness to my own needs, my own desires. I. Like she doesn’t care.
And how that pains me, God, I need your help. I need your help to forgive her.
So, Lord, I take this list, I take the list of all the things that I’ve. Come to realize have hurt me over the years, maybe even over the decades, maybe when we were dating, maybe even just yesterday or today, and I bring it before you, God, I say, God, this
[00:04:00] is what I need your help to forgive. I need to let this go.
I need to forgive God and I ask for your grace to forgive. Lord, you are a God of mercy that my righteousness is like filthy rags to you. Oh God of heaven, the holiest one. But you came. You died in my place, and if I’m gonna hold this list against my wife, how in the world can I think that Jesus would forgive me?
Lord, let me forgive her the way that you forgive me for no other reason than that is what you call me to be. That’s what you call me to do.
[00:05:00] As a husband to forgive and love his wife, like Christ loves the church. Give me that grace of God.
And now what I will do is speak out each item. Even out loud maybe. And I will just ask you, God, to help me to release it, to truly forgive, to truly let it go each and every item on this list. And I will do that and I’ll do that now, trusting that you are. Going to give me the grace to let it go now and forever.
